Catty Books- part 2

I did use my coupon and then used another coupon the following Saturday. 'Pawing Through the Past' and 'Whisker of Evil' completed my set of Mrs. Murphy paperbacks. I whipped through both books throughly enjoying them.

After reading 'Pawing through the Past', if that is how high school reunions go, I am glad I have skipped my so far. Just a bit too much excitement. Also, Mrs. Murphy would be in trouble if she were my cat with her shenanigans.

Now, I will be waiting for "Sour Puss" in paperback. I have trouble justifying the cost of a hardbound book given how fast I read. If I was really frugal, I would use my local library for these books.

Down Memory Lane - Georgetown loop

For our anniversary in 2004, we took a ride on the the Georgetown Loop (http://www.georgetownlooprr.com/). At the time there was a chance, 2004 was the last year for the train ride. The Colorado Historical Society and the land owner were not agreeing to terms. An agreement was reached just after the end of the 2004 season.

So, we went for a ride on overcast day rather than miss the oportunity. The ride is from Georgetown, Colorado to Silver Plume, Colorado and back again. With a short break in Silver Plume to run the engine from one end of the cars to the other, the round trip takes about three and half hours.
The slow chug up and down the valley is scenic. Complete with all the sounds and sensations of being on a coal fired train. The distance between Georgetown and Silver Plume is about two miles with a grade of six percent, hairpin turns and bridges were added reducing the grade to three percent so the narrow gauge train engines could do the job.

Catty Books

I have been reading the Sneaky Pie Brown books lately, out of order of course. Rudy got me started by giving me three last Christmas. I suspect it easier to follow the side stories that wind through the books if they are read in order. The stories stand on their own and I really like them. I might be able to get one of the two paperbacks I don't have this Saturday. I just printed a Borders coupon and there is knitting at Borders Saturday. As long as the snow stays away, I can go play on Saturday.

The other cat mysteries, I have are by Lillian Braun starring Koko and Yumyum. Both of whom are very old kitties based on the copyright dates.

Introducing My Cats

Trinka the Squeak is the fuzzy tortie "Norwegian Forest Cat" leaning against the arm rest. She adopted us ten years ago at a PetSmart in Virginia. She would like to rule the roost but doesn't have the follow through.
Freya Talkie Cat was adopted two years ago as a wee kitten. She is a striped "Ocicat" and has learned much from her mentor a.k.a Trinka.
Both are of unknown parentage, and we assigned their heritage based on appearance and personalities.
They are cuddling on the office chair and an afghan again as this post is being typed. As opposed to playing elephant and racing through the house or having a smack down, hiss and growl session.
