Tams

I got on a tam kick for knitting hats as a result of trying to decide what to do with my hand painted yarn. It just wasn't saying scarf. It was saying hat and if there was any chance I would wear it, it needed to be a beret or a tam. The first photo shows one tam out of the the hand painted yarn and one that combines the hand painted yarn with some Cascade 220. The Cascade 220 was left over from the beret in the lower photo. The pattern is the basic tams out of 'The Knitters Handy Book of Patterns'. They are both have the circular decreasing crown with different toppers, a pompom and a knotted icord. I think the pompom is the first one off of my pompom/tassle maker.

The second photo is the Baroness Beret out Cascade 220. It was dripping wet for the photo and on a plate for blocking. The hat is downstairs dripping on cement as I type. In case the Knitting Knuts are wondering, yes, it is the Christmas exchange yarn I got. I really like the color and now I just have to wait for the hat dry.
