Bead Counting

This is a beaded amulet purse. I acquired the kit when I was a knitting workshop a few years ago. The sponsor handed out 'favors' towards the end of the first day. I got stationary with knitting on it and the lady behind me got this kit. She decided that she would never use it and asked if I might. So, we traded. I suspect the stationary is long gone.

The kit called for 0000 needles, I figured my 000 would due and they did. The overall pattern is fairly simple to knit. The hardest parts were transferring the beads to the cotton thread and counting correctly when sliding them into place.

Hearts and Hugs Socks

I am way behind on my blog. So, here is a little catch up.

My second pair of Hearts and Hugs socks were knit with Knit Picks Imagination sock yarn. The color is Looking Glass, a nice combination of blues, lavender, and green. I started out with a different pattern and size 2 Pony Pearls. The other pattern was going to be too tight because it didn't have enough stitches and all of the decreases were being difficult on older Pony Pearls.

I switched to Kollage size 2 double points once I got to my parents and Mom gave me a set. I like the small size of the square needles. I had tried some size 8 straights and they just didn't strike my fancy. Maybe, it is wood versus metal again. I usually like metal better than wood for some reason.
