Half-Width Chevron Scarf

I finally picked a pattern for my Qiviut yarn. I have 2 balls that are each 144 yards and 28 grams (~3/4 ounce). After going through Artic Lace, I realized I didn't have enough for any of the lace scarfs but noticed that some of the scarfs had two sets of motifs. At first, I thought I would do a half width Skeleton Scarf but just couldn't get started.

Last month, I was thinking about starting the scarf again and looked at Skeleton scarf and the other patterns. I decided I wanted something fancier for the middle and settled on the Chevron scarf. So, far I have the borders and one full repeat of the chevron plus a little. It is about half the width of the actual pattern. I think I will get the full length or very close to it.

When I am not knitting on it, the yarn is staying in the zip lock back it came it. This might be a bad idea some where else. I have heard that fiber felts in moist climates when zip locked. So, far I have been lucky.

So, far the yarn has been easy to work with.

Stash Again

Back to the subject of stash. I thought I would be good. The Knitting Guild of Denver had a white elephant stash silent action. I took four items, one of them was yarn. That would be minus one batch of yarn, right?

The only problem is, I won two bids, so the night ended with plus two batches of yarn. It should be easy to use up the new yarn. It is the type I use for charity knitting, machine washable and good for hats or baby blankets.

The net change in stash was plus one.

It gets better, I also paid for the dye workshop which will add two more skeins of yarn at the end of the work shop. I think I get to count them as one if I do the same color thing to them. Or I could just plan to use up two stash items.

Probably shouldn't ply the yarn on the spinning wheel just yet. Yes, the count could just be going higher this month.
