Surprise

Yes, it is a Baby Surprise Jacket using the classic EZ pattern. The yarn is out of a kit for knitting a sweater for a 2 year old. I decided no one I know would ever put a sweater with white cuffs and a designer slouch neck crossing design on a two year old. So the kit languished in the closet of yarn for years. I realized recently, I might need a baby sweater or something for one of our coworkers soon. I dug the kit out and said no not that sweater but maybe the EZ Baby surprise jacket. The cotton yarn in the kit was for the same gauge. I found that it only took a tad over three balls of the seven balls of yarn plus a dab of red yarn.

So, I have dutifully started another one. This way there will be a choice and hopefully the one not picked will find a good home too. Any yarn left from the two will go in the scrap yarn bag.

The yarn is 100% mercerized cotton, Sassy Skein Key West Karibbean Kotton Kollection. It can be machine washed on cold and line dry. So, it seems suitable for a baby.
